American Pro Golfer, Cristie Kerr, played in the US Women’s Open this past weekend with three (3) dislocated ribs!  Cristie was in a golf-cart accident the week prior that sent her and her caddie, Matt Gelczis, to the hospital.  With barely a week to recoup, heal and implement a treatment plan, she is pushed through. News and interviews report that Kerr is slowly feeling better each day.

“…despite it hurting “everywhere,” Kerr still managed an even-par 71 on the Jackrabbit Course at Champions Golf Club and is tied for 24th after the first round.” Source: Golf Digest

“I walked and chipped and putted around Jackrabbit [on Tuesday] and then my caddie is like let’s hit a 60-yard shot here and see what you got,” Kerr said. “I skulled two of them over the green because it hurt so bad.” Source: Golf Digest

Cristie is a two-time major winner, once at the US Women’s Open in 2007 and again at the LPGA Championship in 2010. This is her 25th US Women’s Open, making her the top veteran on the course.

Some Facts About Cristie:
